THE HUSOMESTRONG FOUNDATION PROUDLY PRESENTS: ANDY YOHE

Andy Yohe is a Bettendorf, IA. native and three-time Paralympian winning two gold medals and one bronze medal for the men’s USA sled hockey team. In 1994 Andy lost both of his legs in a train accident. This tragedy didn’t stop Andy from playing a game he loved as a youth. The accident changed his course in life but never deterred him from pursuing his dream of competing for his country. Nearly ten years after his accident, Andy began playing sled hockey with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) Blackhawks and was a member of the 2006 USA bronze medal team. Yohe returned four years later, and along with his USA teammates, they captured the gold medal in 2010. Andy returned again in 2014, and as the team captain, team USA won the gold medal for the second consecutive time. Andy and his wife Katie reside in Bettendorf with their two children Abby and Levi.
